          Description
Numerous flowers are held on long, slender, arching stems – nodding their heads slightly to give a most pleasing effect. The flowers are loosely cupped and a little more than semi-double; their colour being a lovely pure yellow. They have a musky scent with a hint of orange blossom. It forms a tall, vigorous shrub with a rather informal habit. David Austin, 1998.

          Behind the name
The name celebrates the bright yellow colouring and airy grace of the rose, which brings to mind the buttercup, a wild flower that can be found in hedgerows and meadows across the British Isles.
