Pruning your roses correctly is the key to keeping them healthy and productive year after year. Our pruning workshop is designed to guide you through the process, ensuring you have the knowledge and skills to prune with confidence. Whether you’re shaping a shrub or encouraging your climbing rose to flourish, everything you need to know about pruning roses will be covered.
What to expect:
- Practical demonstrations: Running from 9:30 am to 1 pm, the workshop includes an expert-led demonstration showing you the best techniques for pruning different types of roses.
- Take home a potted rose: After the session, you’ll leave with a complimentary potted rose of your choice*, ready to bloom in your garden come spring.
- Light refreshments: Start your morning with a choice of bacon, sausage or vegan sausage buns alongside a hot drink. Please inform us of any dietary requirements when booking.
- Exclusive discounts: As a special treat, you’ll also receive a 10% discount on any purchases made in our plant centre and gift shop on the day of the workshop.
* Complimentary potted rose is non-transferable; the varieties available are dependant upon pre-selected stock availability.

As the summer flowering season winds down and winter approaches, it’s the perfect time to plant bare root roses ready for spring. Our bare root rose workshop will teach you everything you need to know about this traditional planting method how to successfully choose, plant and care for bare root roses to ensure they thrive.
What to expect:
- Expert guidance: Led by a rose expert, this half-day workshop (10 am - 1 pm) includes hands-on demonstrations covering everything from proper planting techniques to the best care tips for getting your roses off to a strong start.
- Take home your own rose: At the end of the workshop, you'll receive a complimentary bare root rose of your choice* along with a packet of Mycorrhizal Fungi to encourage strong root growth.
- Light refreshments: Start your morning with a choice of bacon, sausage or vegan sausage buns alongside a hot drink. Please inform us of any dietary requirements at the time of booking.
